When it comes to snowy, winter landscapes, the Adirondacks really have something special. Last February, Ari and Chris planned a last minute getaway from NYC combining both adventure and romance- because why not have both! No stranger to the Adirondacks, they knew that the winter was full of fun activities and that February would be a great time of year to visit. So, they grabbed a car and drove up north!
When it came to planning their adventure session, I knew these two were up for anything. They frequently spend time hiking, backpacking, and camping. When they have time that is. Both Ari and Chris are busy actors in New York City, which means that they need to take advantage of whatever time they have to escape since their schedules are often very full!
For their snowy engagement photoshoot, we chose a moderately challenging 3 mile trail through the woods to a gorgeous lookout. Since neither Chris or Ari owned snowshoes, they rented some in Lake Placid. That's the great thing about snow sports in the Adirondacks- you can usually rent a lot of the gear you may need. Skies started out a bit gray, but the time we reached our destination, the blue was shining through! We were even treated to a quick flurry of snowflakes up top.
If you ask me, there was a certain kind of beautiful magic in Ari's jacket matching the sky and Chris' jacket matching the green pine trees. I'm not sure what that might be symbolic of, but I'm sure there is something to be said about partnership.
After romping in the snow a bit, we headed back down to warm up and drive to our next location. For this one, we took off the snowshoes and Ari changed into a gorgeous sweater that matched the Adirondack covered bridge vibe perfectly. Chris' sweater wasn't too bad either ;)
Capturing these two in love was such a delight and honor! We had so much fun and I can't wait for the next time we all get together for more Adirondack hikes.

Meet Your Adirondack Elopement and Engagement Photographer
When it comes to your engagement photos, I do things a bit differently. I believe that you deserve more than just a few standard poses in a generic location. That's why each photoshoot experience is unique to the couple. We plan the session together around your interests and then you get bomb AF photos that you can choose to display at home or use to announce your engagement.
When hiring your engagement or elopement photographer, you will want to find someone who is an experienced adventure wedding photographer AND a local expert -- and that's me! I'm an award-winning photographer who has been featured in several publications and was recently named one of the top 9 elopement photographers in New York! And when I'm not photographing elopements, I'm usually out hiking, skiing, or biking to find new, amazing locations for couples to explore. As a local expert, I'm here to guide you through making a memorable experience for the two of you.
My New York engagement packages start at $1,600 for 3+ hours of adventure coverage.
