Kaiti and Sarah envisioned a dreamy Upstate NY elopement that would combine their love for nature with the presence of their loved ones and their beloved dog, Dexter. They approached me for assistance in finding the ideal location, and I immediately thought of Moreau Lake State Park - the perfect choice to fulfill all their criteria. It had a wheelchair accessible area for a first look with family, was close to their home in Saratoga Springs where they were getting ready, and had a not-too-intense hike to a viewpoint overlooking the Hudson- perfect for exchanging private vows.
A Saratoga Springs Hiking Elopement
Moreau is a beautiful elopement destination in upstate New York. With over 20 miles of picturesque hiking trails, this park is a nature lover's paradise. Nestled near the Hudson River in Saratoga County, it offers the perfect backdrop for your special day. Whether you're enamored by lakeside beaches, crave hiking and skiing trails, or dream of paddling on the serene lake, this park has it all. You can say "I do" surrounded by nature's beauty.
Starting the Day with Family Before a Solo Adventure
Kaiti, Sarah, and I crafted a perfect day that allowed for them to exchange vows in private and make it official, whilst also enjoying the company of their nearest and dearest. Beginning at Kaiti's family home in Saratoga Springs, we all gathered there to get ready together. We couldn't resist capturing some breathtaking portraits in the backyard, showcasing their stunning suits and the excitement bubbling within them for the incredible day ahead.
A First Look with Family
Kaiti and Sarah arrived separately in their cars for their first look. Excitement filled the air as their loved ones eagerly awaited them in a designated spot. Together, with their cherished guests, they had chosen a location in Moreau surrounded by the trees- providing an intimate and cozy feel to the gathering. This location was carefully selected to accommodate and include all their cherished guests.
Capturing the magic of the first look on camera is one of my favorite parts of the day.
When Kaiti and Sarah first met way back when, neither planned to fall in love because one of them had plans to move. Despite their initial reluctance, fate intervened and love blossomed between them. With their wedding day now here, Kaiti was filled with excitement as she waited for Sarah to arrive. Sarah tapped Kaiti on the shoulder and they turned into a heartfelt embrace, with their loved ones cheering them on.
After photographing their family moments, Kaiti and Sarah eagerly drove to a secluded and idyllic area of the park, seeking the perfect spot for their vows. There, they found solace and privacy, allowing them to truly immerse themselves in the beauty of their surroundings. As they approached the overlook, they were greeted with a breathtaking view before them. And when the right moment arrived, Kaiti and Sarah exchange heartfelt vows, sealing their bond in a truly unforgettable way.
