Some of my favorite elopements are the ones planned within a month, and Kelly & Jason's mountain elopement in the Adirondacks was no exception!
Kelly and Jason had originally planned to head to Lake Placid, NY to go rock climbing and celebrate Jason's birthday. But after delaying their original wedding plans due to Covid restrictions, they decided to add in an elopement! In full transparency, I've waited over a year to post Kelly and Jason's story, just so you could then click over to their wedding story.
Kelly and Jason chose to start their Adirondack getaway by kicking it off with their elopement! After driving up from NYC that morning, they checked in to their cabin at Lake Placid Lodge, ordered some sandwiches from the Big Mountain Deli in Lake Placid for their mountain picnic, and picked up their bouquet, boutonnière, and floral dog collars from Little Farmhouse Flowers (both linked below). After all, they had brought their two dogs to witness their nuptials.
For their elopement, Kelly and Jason got ready together at their lakeside cabin before exploring the property a bit. After a brief ceremony, the three of us headed off to begin our hike. Kelly and Jason had picked a short but strenuous hike, climbing 800 feet over the course of a mile through a pine forest to a gorgeous summit.
In Kelly's own words, working with Outdoor Chronicles made the entire experience "very easy" and that the two of them never would have thought of the mountain location we went to, despite visiting the Adirondacks quite often! That's the thing. When it comes to planning your elopement, you can make it as easy or as complicated as you want. And my goal is to make everything fun for you. Sometimes simple is best- all you need is the two of you and a way to celebrate that is meaningful and specific to your relationship. And while I tried to talk them into some rock climbing pictures, I get why they wanted their wedding to be a bit different than their normal couples activity.
